TEEN VOLUNTEERS WANTED
Help Lead a Digital Wellness Revolution
It’s time to stop allowing our phones to rewire
and rule our brain.

Phones and social media are dominating our lives —and they’re messing with our focus, our sleep, friendships and our happiness.

But guess what? You’re not the problem. The way tech is built is.

So let’s flip the script—together.

Brave Lion Wholehearted Wellness is building a teen-led advisory
group to help create mindfulness-based digital wellness tools made
by youth, for you(th).
Will you help us?
As part of this Youth Digital Wellbeing Advisory Committee and Focus Group, you will help create opportunities for youth (and yourself) to navigate the world without the constant focus on tech, devices and social media.
Your input is essential, and here’s how you’ll contribute to the team and how we will utilize your input:
-
Identify frustrations with social media use (ex. procrastination, anxiety, comparison) and identify the apps that contribute to these pain points the most.
-
Join weekly virtual meetings with other adolescents to discuss how mindfulness can cultivate personal agency and be used to balance and tame tech use. (Example discussion question: What’s the #1 thing social media takes from you? What could replace it?)
-
Commit to practicing and experimenting with tips and tools to nurture your relationship with tech and devices. You will be willing to:
-
Share your experience and new insights
-
Provide honest feedback on the pros/cons of these tools
-
-
Be a vocal advocate and leader for digital wellbeing by spreading the word and promoting digital wellbeing in the community!
-
Attend a one-day wellness retreat where you’ll utilize the tips and tricks you’ve learned throughout the process, helping co-create our next tool.

Key Time Commitments:
-
Weekly virtual meetings for ~1 month (1 hour each)
-
Thursday, July 3 from 7 pm-8 pm EST
-
Thursday, July 17 from 7 pm-8 pm EST
-
Thursday, July 31 from 7 pm-8 pm EST
-

A curious mind and willingness to explore mindfulness tools and offer constructive feedback
-
Commitment to nurturing a healthy relationship with tech, personal devices and social media
There is no expertise required.
Just bring your honest experiences and an open mind!

We are going to listen and learn together, and we are going to have lots of fun in the process!
All participating members will also receive publishing mention and advisory member credit for tool and curriculum creation.
All volunteer hours can be applied to community service iniatives.
If you are a student interested in mental health, want to promote your digital well-being, give back to the community, and are reliable and open to learning new things, you’re a perfect fit!
Please complete the brief application below and we will be in touch the week of June 23.
We can’t wait to work with you.

The phone is an experience blocker.
You spend a lot less time in the presence of other people. You're not with your friends. You're sleeping less, you're in nature less, you read fewer books, you don't have time for anything else, you have less of almost everything.

All learning, all parenting,
all relationships.
Love or the lack of it.
